There are a lot of air purifiers available on today’s market and it can be hard to choose the right one. That’s why I personally went with the advice that I read from a consumer report magazine that I am subscribed to. I must admit that the XJ 3800’s design also played a small part in choosing this one over the others. This one just looked the nicest to me.

The Intelli Pro air purifier has the usual HEPA filter, like you’d expect from an air purifiers. Not every air purifier, however, has a pre filter, ionizer, uv lamp against germs, activated carbon filter and an electronic dust collection grid. This one does, and it kind of blew me away that Surround Air has somehow managed to stuff all of that in a relatively small volume.
Ever since it became known that ionizing air purifiers work a lot better than non-ionizing ones, I’ve had my heart set on an ionizing one. They are slightly more expensive, but to me… it’s worth it.
So where exactly does the phrase ‘intelli’ in this air purifier’s name come from anyway? It comes from the fact that it will let you know when you have to replace the filters. A welcome addition if you ask me, because with my old air purifier I was always in doubt as to whether or not I should replace the filters.
The XJ 3800’s intelligent software also helps it in being energy efficient. It uses sensors to detect how much energy it requires for operation. It does not use more energy than it needs to. The UV lamp in this air purifier also doesn’t use much energy. Both the filters and the UV lamp are cheap to replace.
All in all, the XJ 3800 does not require a lot of maintenance. And when it does, the price of it stays low.
Like most air purifiers on the market today, the Surround Air XJ 3800 uses a fan. Because air purifiers should be able to function many hours per day, they require quiet fans. From personal experience, I can tell you that this purifier’s fan is pretty quiet. And if you’re not happy about the amount of noise it makes when in full operation, it also has a quiet setting to make it even quieter.
The XJ 3800 can handle an area of around 600 square feet. This is actually a lot more than what most air purifiers of this size can handle. The Whirlpool AP51030K Whispure air purifier, for example, can handle ‘only’ 500 square feet. Not that any of this matters when you use an air purifier like this in a moderately sized living room or bed room. Air purifiers are made to handle areas slightly larger than the ones they are most often used in.
I’ve had the XJ 3800 for a few weeks now and I’m very satisfied about it. I did a lot of research on air purifiers before I decided to finally buy the XJ 3800 from Amazon. I bought it based on many of the good reviews I had read there.
The XJ 3800’s software smarts really come in handy during regular operation. If the air is contaminated, it will let you know when the quality of your air is sub par. When it detects low quality air, it kicks into gear and corrects the situation very rapidly.
This purifier is great at what it’s supposed to do: to purify air. From my own experience, it is very effective against funky odors and cigarette smoke. I have also noticed a significant drop in my breathing problems that are caused by certain allergies that I suffer from.
Despite elaborate research on the web, I have not been able to find a cheaper, lower maintenance air purifier than this. I could be wrong, but I think this is probably the best bang for your buck right here.
